Girls say cops showed them bondage porn, supplied alcohol

KNOXVILLE - Two Knoxville Police Department officers who resigned this month allegedly watched bondage porn with a pair of 13-year-old girls, plied them with alcohol and had the girls dance for them in a state of partial undress, according to a search warrant executed at the home of one of the former officers.


Officers Nicky R. Bryant and Donald Scott Clark were suspended July 3 and resigned the day before KPD officials revealed that internal and criminal probes had been launched against two officers.

The search warrant - which was drawn up by Knox County Sheriff's Office investigators - sought images "depicting nudity, sexual conduct, or sado-masochistic abuse ... that is harmful to minors" that were believed to be stored at Bryant's home.

The two 13-year-old girls who made the accusations told KCSO investigators that Bryant frequently picked them up and took them to his house, and sometimes the girls would spend the night at his house on Bland Lane, according to the search warrant affidavit.

The girls said that Bryant and Clark had given them alcohol and they would "dance with their shirts off and bikini tops on" for both men, said the affidavit filed in Knox County Criminal Court.

One of the girls also said that she had slept in the same bed with Bryant but no sexual contact occurred.

Also, one of the girls said she began watching pornography at Bryant's home when she was 11 or 12 years old. She said the porn was stored on his personal computer in a spare bedroom, and that sometimes both Bryant and Clark would watch the videos with her.

The girl said "one of these videos contained images of a female being bound with rope" and "the female on the video was then sexually penetrated and thrown out of the house into the street still bound with ropes," the affidavit said.

Another video featured "a female dressed to appear as a schoolgirl," the report said.

The 15-year-old brother of one of the girls told investigators that he had watched Bryant watch porn in front of his sister and her friend. The boy also said that Bryant "erased the pornographic videos from his computer after the start of the current investigation."

The warrant was executed Tuesday at Bryant's house on Bland Lane. Investigators seized DVDs, a digital camera, a VHS tape, a multimedia card, a printer and other items, according to the warrant return.

In addition to the probes by KPD and KCSO, the state Department of Children's Services is involved in the case.

The investigation is being headed by KCSO Detective Amylynn Delgado, who is being assisted by Detective Mark Harvey, a computer crimes specialist.

Neither officer has made a public statement on the accusation. Clark's attorney, Gregory P. Isaacs, has said that his client shouldn't be blamed for what anyone else did.

Clark worked for the department for five years, Bryant for six years. Both officers' personnel files show reprimands for policy violations, as well as commendations from the public for their professional demeanor.

Bryant's records show a two-day suspension in 2005 for not following policy in working an extra job. He had a previous one-day suspension in 2004 for "a preventable crash," according to records.

Clark's file shows a one-day suspension last year after he drove his police cruiser out of state. He received a reprimand this year for providing sensitive information to a civilian from the National Crime Information Center and in 2007 for having a dirty and unloaded gun.
Both men still hold police certifications from the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, which certifies officers across the state.

DeBusk, the KPD spokesman, said the department will notify the POST Commission the officers "resigned under internal investigation" and can ask to have them stripped of their certification if necessary once the investigation wraps up.

Clark’s attorney, Gregory P. Isaacs, said his firm was investigating the allegations in the search warrant.

“Based on the information in the search warrant, we are unaware of any allegations regarding Scott Clark aside from misdemeanor allegations that our firm is still investigating,” Isaacs said. “I want to caution everyone against jumping to unsubstantiated conclusions as regards to Mr. Clark.”
Bryant hasn’t responded to previous attempts to contact him and it was unclear if he had an attorney.
