GLBTQ BDSM erotica: An interview with author Beth Wylde

The concept of Broadly Bound alone is enough to get any GLBT erotica fan on all fours. Picture the opening night of a BDSM club-owned by lesbians and your id rattles its cage. Delve further into the dungeon and picture the trans, bi, gay, and lesbian patrons, the assortment of possible scenarios, and the fact that they are in a place that fosters intellectual openness and physical exploration, and then grab the key to your special little toy box. Beth Wylde, established ebook and print author of GLBTQ erotica, chats with me about her new anthology and what pushes her button.
IG: you seem to have a really open mind when it comes to sexuality, gender roles, and sex. How do you identify yourself?
BW: Not sure I classify myself. I'm open-minded. I just think that everyone should be able to find love, happiness and hot sex no matter what their kink, gender or orientation
IG: How did your new GLBTQ BDSM erotica anthology, Broadly Bound, come about?
BW: Syd McGinley, DL King, Kathleen Bradean, and Cassandra Gold round out the book alongside of me. I contacted some of my favorite authors and pitched the idea to them; I never expected them to say yes. I'm both honored and humbled to be surrounded by such amazing talent in this book.
IG: Is there a variety amongst those writers in the pairings and genres they write?
BW: My story is f/f, DL is going to be bi, Kathleen is f/f with a bit of a trans slant to it, Cassandra only does m/m and Syd McGinley's story is m/m also. The stories roam the entire BDSM GLBTQ spectrum; there is truly something for everyone in this book. I get to play both sides of the field on this book, proud author and squealing fan girl.
IG: Let's change focus here for a moment...what gets you hot personally?
BW: Oh wow, that is a loaded question (laughs). Honestly
intelligence more than anything else. Naughty dialogue (laughs).
IG: You're the president of the United States. What is your first order of business?
BW: I'm really not sure what my first act would be but I know what things need to be focused on. Our healthcare is shit, we have too many high paid politicians trying to speak for the lower and middle class when they wouldnt know what that was if a blue collar worker bit them in the ass.
Its a sad situation when you think about the people we really have in power trying to represent us to everyone. Sorry for being longwinded. I don't always censor myself when I probably should. I have no filter between my mouth and my brain.
IG: Which is sometimes good and sometimes a kick in the ass...
BW: People either love me or hate me once they meet me. I'm a bit loud and outspoken and that turns some people off. But I'm never boring (laughs).
IG: So you have a kind of promotional tour coming up? Attending a few festivals?
BW: My first public appearance was back in January at Marscon in Williamsburg and it was so great I wanted to do more. It's wonderful to put faces to the names of all the people I email or chat with online and to meet the readers and other writers in person. I live in Virginia though and not a lot of opportunities seem to come my way so when three chances popped up back-to-back and close by, I knew I had to go.
I have plans to be in DC on September 12th at The Crucible for the Fetish Flea Market and play party afterwards. A few other authors will be joining me at all three events. Then there is the Pride festival in Roanoke and the Pride festival in Durham. It's going to be a very hectic yet fun September.
IG: Where should people go to order the book?
BW: I don't know if readers know this or not but buying directly from the publisher benefits the authors the most. When you buy from some of the distributors they take a cut of the sales before the publisher gets their cut and then the author gets what is left. It is better to buy straight from the source.
IG: So give us the source then, woman...
BW:
www.phaze.com and come Monday Broadly Bound will be listed on the home page as a new release for two weeks, then my author page is

IG: That's a wrap. I think we're good.
